| Commentary |
| September has seen a sharp increase of energy prices due to the protracted bottlenecks materializing on the offer side while demand has continued to be strong. As result oil prices as well as gas prices have posted sustained gains. Stock markets are flat month on month with a negative trend appearing toward the end of the month triggered by the events occurred to the real estate giant Evergrande and worries spreading to the overall Chinese economy. Negative pressures on the markets have built also due to a more hawkish approach from the Federal Reserve and the political fight in the United States about raising the debt ceiling which risks leading to the US defaulting on their debt for the first time in history. |
